So I don't at all understand that criticism, especially the one about "ads everywhere". You don't have to go through them to get to anything you want. But nothing is forcing you to have to those tabs. So of course there will be ads, just like there is in the PS4's store page, which by the way is horrible to navigate in comparision. Yeah you're gonna see ads in the entertainment/store because.that's where you go to buy stuff. The community screen, again, you can customize to see what you want to see. There is one single sponsored box for an ad on the homepage. The home page you customize to what you want to see.
It's just not as smooth on the PS4 doing those same sort of things. You can broadcast or start a party or do whatever within just a few button clicks. Within that button push you can access practically anything quickly. You basically have everything you need in one push of the guide button. There's no way PS4's UI is easier to navigate than the Xbox. But as far as system UI goes, it's like the same gap except in Microsoft's favor.
